Easter 2011

Griffin had been asking about Easter for months. Last year we did empty egg hunts sporadically for months after Easter. He just loves hunting down those eggs. So Easter morning he was very excited to start hunting on the official day.

Look at this one.

This is a picture of the first egg he found.

I got one too.
Olive June also enjoyed hunting for eggs but at her own pace.

Inside they looked at their egg's contents and at a few small Easter gifts.

OJ eating some mini M&Ms and reading a book. Already a multi-tasker.

After church we went over to our friends, the Halloway's, house. They had a few families over for a meal and another Easter Egg Hunt. We all compiled around 300 eggs together for an extended hunt. Here is the beginning of the hunt with Mollie encouraging Olive June. Griffin needed no encouraging.

Coming next... The Reinhardt's visit.

Leading Up To Easter

After Rocco and the girls left Georgia I took some photos of Griffin and Olive June. The Saturday prior to Easter, Griffin and OJ partook in an Easter Egg Hunt in an Athens park. Olive June only got an egg or two because she was too busy eating the contents of the first egg she found.

Griffin only got a couple eggs because he was in a 5-7 year-old age group. I ended up herding egg snatching kids, with 30 eggs in their baskets, so Griffin could get a few eggs. He had a great time anyway.

Another day I took the kids to our neighbor's pond for fun. I managed to bring the camera along and got some great photos. With these kids and the right light it is easy to capture magic.

I should mention that Olive June took a brief swim in the pond just after these photos were taken. She was not upset by slipping on a rock and falling into the water. Instead, she became frustrated when I took her away from the pond to give her a bath.

Next to come... Easter!

Rocco and Crew

So we have had some visitors lately. Lisa, Rocco, and Cousin Meghan came to visit us prior to Easter. It was a joy for all of us to finally meet young Rocco. We had a really great time being together and having fun. The adults even got a chance to have a night on the town in Athens during the visit. Good times.
