Griffin Actual Birthday

He got what he wanted, a microscope.

He also really enjoyed a book of Galapagos pictures Grampy (Dave) and Grandma Kathy sent. Griffin's dream is to go to the Galapagos Islands so he was very excited. He also got a tube of Galapagos Islands animals from Olive June.

He is showing us a lizard of some kind.

He did not want a cake or cupcakes. No, he wanted a donut with sprinkles.

...and he enjoyed it.

He was a little silly before bedtime.

Olive June also enjoyed her birthday donut too.

Fall Walk in the Park

The other day I took the kids to a hiking park while Mama rested. We walked around and had some adventures in the beautiful fall colors and weather.

There was also some running involved.

Brother and sister.

Pointing at something in the river water.

Climbing on rocks on the river bank.

OJ is not as sure of herself around the water.

Under a bench.

On top of the bench.

Climbing and laughing.

Going down some rocks.

After climbing a cliff using tree roots as hand-holds.

Our own neighborhoods fall colors.

Before and during Halloween

Before Halloween we went to a fall festival where the kids got try on there costumes and play some games. It was fun. Here is Captain America in the flesh.

We saw Lily there. She and Olive June were princess's.

The Sunday before Halloween we went to Fernbank and Camp Sunshine. Here Griffin is pictured checking out a microscope at Fernbank.

Olive June at the periscope.

OJ and Mollie having fun lifting balls in a bucket with a rope.

A baby alligator smiling at us.

At Camp Sunshine they had many fun activities for the kids. This was the first time I went to Camp Sunshine although Mollie and the kids have been there before. Camp Sunshine is an organization that has camps and events for Child Cancer patients and survivors. Here Griffin is pictured on a bouncy castle.

Olive June posing with Dora the Explorer.

All day Griffin was looking forward to decorating cookies. He finally got to with Olive June.

Griffin's finished cookie.

Griffin and Olive promptly ate their cookies after making them.

On Halloween we went over to our friends, the Smiths, to trick-or-treat. Noah and Justice were Transformers for Halloween.

Olive June and Justice mostly road around in strollers during the night. Here they are pictured holding hands before we went out into the neighborhood.

Mollie's Birthday and Granite Falls, NC

For Mollie's Birthday the kids and I made a fun sign. Griffin came up with the wording "you're the best mommy in the world." Griffin and his sister used dot-paint and stickers to decorate it.

I got a yummy German-chocolate cake for Mollie. We all enjoyed it.

OJ on Mollie's b-day.

A weak earlier we went to Granite Fall, NC to visit our friends the Benyai's. We were really close when they lived in Athens and it was really great to see them. We went up to Blowing Rock along the Blue Ridge Parkway to see some fall colors.

Everyone was monkey-ing around a bit.
